GIMENO GROUP TAKES A MAJORITY STAKE IN THE BIOTECH BIÓTICA AND COMVAL EMPRENDE REDUCE STAKE.
Gimeno Group, one of the largest Castellón conglomerates, has taken a majority stake in the biotech Biótica, specializing in fast and inexpensive detection of potential contaminants and pathogens. The deal has been materialised through Iproma, a subsidiary of water analysis, which in the early months of this year has undertaken several capital expansions amounting to €400,000, having also joined two minority shareholders.
The VC/PE fund Comval Emprende, promoted by the Catalan Government and managed by Clave Mayor, also takes part in Biótica since 2008. The founding team consists of researchers and Comval Emprende, although they have diluted their share.
