PERMIRA, BAIN CAPITAL AND APOLLO INTERESTED IN THE PURCHASE OF ATENTO.
The private equity firms Permira, Bain Capital and Apollo Capital, have shown interest in acquiring the Telefónica customer centers subsidiary, Atento. The strong presence of the company in Latin America, a strong growth region and with a leadership position hold in almost all the markets in which it operates, is attractive for these firms.
HSBC and Morgan Stanley, Telefónica advisors in the deal, have already received proposals to acquire the company valued at about €1,000 million.
For Telefónica, the transaction is part of the non-estrategic assets divestment process started by the company to be strengthened. It is expected the next week to be taken the decision of moving to the next stage with the delivery of binding offers by the groups.
Bain Capital has hired Goldman Sachs, Santander and Nomura to carry out its first acquisition of a Spanish company.
The British firm Permira controls the fast food chain Telepizza, the textile group Cortefiel with private equity firms PAI Partners and CVC, and participate in Odigeo, resulting from the merger of online travel companies eDreams and Go Voyages (see news), which last year acquired the Amadeus’ subsidiary, Opodo (see news).
