CHAMBERI VALLEY SUPPORTS 30 STARTUPS FROM MADRID AS SINDELANTAL, TICKETEA OR COCHES.COM.
Chamberí Valley has become one of the major driver of technology startups in Madrid, which find the needed protection to grow and develop, overcome difficulties and share experiences. Currently, 30 technology companies from Madrid are under this accelerator-incubator born spontaneously a year and a half ago.
Innovative initiatives such as sindelantal.com, coches.com or ticketea.com, with billings of over €1 million in 2011, have taken root with Chamberí Valley. Their success has attracted the attention and capital from business angels and VC/PE firms.
Sindelantal.com, currently manages 15,000 food delivery orders monthly in more than 1,000 restaurants in Spain. Currently employs 30 people in Spain and 15 in Mexico, where they want to grow through the Mexican miorden.com. The company, founded by Diego Ballesteros and Evaristo Babé, is owned by venture capital firm VitaminaK (see news).
Ticketea.com, the online event management platform, founded by Javier Andrés, among others, has as its next challenge the internationalization, after selling more than half a million entrances in ten countries for all kind of events. Its revenue structure goes through the number of tickets sold with a margin of 8% profit. The company currently employs 22 workers. Atrapalo.com decided to invest €1 million in the company in late 2010.
Coches.com founded by Iñaki Arrola and at time VitaminaK co-founder, has the financial support and expertise of idealista.com.
