TAIGA MISTRAL ACQUIRES 50% OF EL CONJURO WIND PARK OWNED BY HG CAPITAL.
The British VC/PE firm HG Capital has reached an agreement to sell its 50% stake in a wind park of Granada to the firm Taiga Mistral, in one of the few deals working in the Spanish renewable energy sector. The deal values 100% of El Conjuro wind farm, with a power of 13 mw, in €15 million. The deal’s closing is pending the signing of the sale with the notary.
The facility, which started operations in 2007, was funded by CaixaBank and Caixa Catalunya. HG Capital takes part in the park through Hidrodata, a Catalan company in which the fund acquired 29% in February. The firm is interested in maintaining the hydro assets of its investee, while it has promoted the transfer of its only active farm. HG Capital has also several photovoltaic plants in Spain.
Taiga Mistral count with 250 megawatts in Poland, Romania and Spain. In this country, the firm acquired several parks to Gamesa (see news). Now, Taiga is raising funds from investors to launch a new wind power investment fund in Poland and also prepares acquisitions in the infrastructure sector.
