PEERTRANSFER CLOSES A €5.2 MILLION FINANCING ROUND.
Peertransfer, the Valencian electronic payment firm specializing in universities, has closed a financing round totaling €5.2 million. The fund Spark Capital, Peertransfer partner, has led the deal in which have also been involved Accel Partners, Maveron and Boston Seed Capital.
The company was founded in July 2009 and led by the Valencian engineer and former student of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) Iker Marcaide. Its operational and development headquarters is in Valencia, where it employs 25 employees and counts with offices in Boston with the commercial area. Today the company offers its platform to 30 universities in the country with which it works.
Mid last summer Peertransfer won the first prize of the second edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Competition (GEC), a tournament in which competed the 23 best business plans in the world within HiT Barcelona World Innovation Summit.
