BONSAI VENTURE CAPITAL AND AXON CAPITAL ENTERS WUAKI.TV CAPITAL.
The VC/PE firms Bonsai Venture Capital and Axon Capital has entered the capital of the Spanish audiovisual content platform, Wuaki.tv, after the closing of a €2 million financing round, also attended by current shareholders. The entry of these funds also implies a knowledge surplus in the field of information and communication technology (ICT).
The company, founded in 2009 by Josep Mitjà, Jacinto Roca and technology NicePeopleAtWork and based in the Technology Park 22@ in Barcelona, has among its partners the investor Marc Ingla and several EsadeBan investors. The platform already provides a shortcut in the new TVs with Internet of Samsung and LG and in tv tuners from these manufacturers and Gigaset (Siemens) and Vodafone through the set top box or media hard disk with access to the Internet.
Bonsai Venture Capital is a venture capital firm, directed by Javier Cebrián and focused on Internet-related business and biotechnology. Among its investees are companies like Softonic, Emagister, Idealista, and Offerum.
On the other hand, Axon Capital manages several VC/PE funds totalling more than €50 million investment. Its priority when investing are technological innovation firms in any stage of development. Among its investees are companies like Aquamobile, Nanobiomatters, DocOnTime, DocOnYou, and Enigma Software Productions.
