REALZA CAPITAL BECOMES A SHAREHOLDER OF LAKMÉ COSMETICS TO SUPPORT ITS GROWTH.
Realza Capital becomes a shareholder of Lakmé Cosmetics to support its growth With this investment the Spanish private equity firm aims to support the growth of the company in the international markets and consolidate its position in the professional hair care sector.
The Spanish private equity firm Realza Capital has completed the fifth investment of its second fund with the acquisition of a majority stake at Lakmé Cosmetics. The founders and current owners, Mr. Víctor and Daniel Carreras, will continue as General Managers and maintain a relevant stake in the firm.
The company was founded in 1996 in Sant Just Desvern (Barcelona) and it is one of the global main players in the manufacture of professional hair care products. Since its foundation, the company have had a strong international drive, exports represent 95% of total company´s sales that has presence in more than 100 countries. In 2021, the firm achieved a sales record, with revenues above 19 million euros.
Realza and the executive team of Lakmé have the objective of seizing the opportunities that the sector offers, given the increasing interest on personal care and well-being. This new project will maintain the basis that have allowed the company to achieve a great success to date which are:
high quality products and a trust based, long term relationship with its clients. The strategic plan of the company for the coming years focusses on the development of new markets and the company´s international expansion.
Mr Pedro de Peñaranda, partner of Realza Capital, said: “this investment has the objective of consolidating and increasing the international presence of Lakmé in a very attractive market segment by strengthening its presence in certain key markets, new product innovations and the entrance into new channels. We have the experience and count with highly skilled professionals involved, committed and with sustainable policies that will help us achieve our goals”.

CDI Global (Eduardo González Gallarza) and Grant Thornton advised Realza Capital, while Óptima Corporate and Garrigues advised Lakmé. Due Diligence have been done by PwC (seller) and EY and Roland Berger among others (buyer).
